PROCESS


There are two types of DVAT Registration:
Normal DVAT Registration, and
Registration under DVAT Composition Scheme which is meant for small businessmen who have a turnover of less than Rs 40 lakhs per annum and deal with sale and purchase of goods within state of Delhi only. Normal DVAT Registration
Documents required by Proprietor for Delhi VAT Registration:
1. 4 passport-sized photographs,
2. Aadhar Card or Election ID of Applicant (mandatory),
3. Address Proof (such as Voter ID, Passport, and Driving License),
4. Bank Account Authentication Details (such as Cancelled Cheque),
5. PAN Card,
6. Registered Office Address Proof (such as Rent Agreement or Ownership Proof) with accompanying documents (such as Electricity Bill* or Property Documents), and *If electricity bill is not in your name, you will have to attach the No Objection Certificate (NOC) in prescribed format too.
7. Rubber Stamp.
Documents required by Company or Partnership Firm or LLP for Delhi VAT Registration:
1. 4 passport-sized photographs of all Directors and Partners,
2. Aadhar Card or Election ID of all Directors and Partners (mandatory),
3. Address Proof all Directors and Partners (such as Voter ID, Passport, and Driving License),
4. Bank Account Authentication Details (such as Cancelled Cheque),
5. Board Resolution authorizing Director for Sales Tax Registration (in the prescribed format),
6. MOA or AOA of Company or Partnership Deed of Firm,
7. PAN Card of Company or Firm,
8. Registered Office Address Proof (such as Rent Agreement or Ownership Proof) with accompanying documents (such as Electricity Bill* or Property Documents), and *If electricity bill is not in your name, you will have to attach the No Objection Certificate (NOC) in prescribed format too.
9. Rubber Stamp of Firm or Company.
Procedure for Delhi VAT Registration:
1. You must first apply for PAN Verification with the Department of Trade and Taxes.
2. Using ID issued by the department, fill DVAT -4 form online.
3. Submit the duly attested hard copy of the DVAT-4 form to the department within 3 working days – with all the relevant documents within 3 working days.
4. Registration Order is issued by the department in the form of DVAT-6 Certificate which is sent by post to your Registered Office.
5. An inspector physically visits your office premises to validate its authenticity.
Documents the VAT Inspector asks for during the Visit: 1. Cancelled Cheque,
2. Copy of Challan,
3. Copy of DVAT-4 application,
4. In case of Company, Firm or LLP, you will need to show Originals and submit Photocopies of PAN card of all Directors or Partners,
5. Photographs of Proprietor, Directors or Partners,
6. Show Originals and submit Photocopy of Address Proof ( such as Voter id or Passport or Driving License or Aadhar) of Proprietor, Directors or Partners,
7. Show Originals and submit Photocopy of PAN card of Proprietor, Company, Firm or LLP, and
8. Show Originals and submit Photocopy of Photocopy of Electricity Bill along with Rent Agreement or NOC
